Expected prognosis

Strength and task confidence can improve when exercise is progressive and performed consistently. The rate is slower when there is severe weakness, pain, neurological impairment, or medical instability.

Approximate time

Noticeable early changes may occur in 4–8 weeks. Building useful strength and endurance commonly takes 8–16 weeks, with maintenance exercise continuing thereafter.
